Thanksgiving appreciation post

Hey everyone! I'm not American, but I'd like to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving.
So what I know of this holiday is that it's the time of year where family get together at a house to meet up. And if I've seen enough SNL skits and jokes on memes, it's that time of year where the alt-right uncle takes presence. And this year, with social distancing and Qanon intesifying like never before, I just wanted to let you know that it's completely fine if you don't want to attend the zoom meeting if that Qperson is going to attend. You also have every right to exit the meeting/dinner if it starts getting political. Yes, they might be family, but if they're sh*t to you or your beliefs, you have every right to cut them off or walk away. And once again, happy Thanksgiving, have fun and please do you, and here's hoping that some day, eventually, Q will go f*cking underground and disappear forever so that Thanksgivings go back to 2014-15: just family fun.

Predicting Reddit moments tomorrow

Tomorrow, the front page will have 2 pictures from the 9/11 attack. The third post will be a Trump quote regarding the event, typical Reddit style. There will also be the edgy teens doing lame 9/11 jokes on old meme subs.
I'm not even joking at this point, we all know it's gonna be like that. It's the usual "rinse, post 9/11 content that will earn you free karma, hibernate for 1 year, repeat".
I'm ok with some professional or educated person wanting to use the date to educate about the incident, such as explaining the geopolitics that culminated on it, etc etc, but we all know redditors do it to gain upvotes and pretend it was for the "awareness" of a globally known event. As much as I hate the northern hemisphere centered vision of Reddit, even I have to admit 9/11 is nearly basic knowledge around the world.
Meanwhile we have a bunch of kids at dankmemes and historymemes posting shitty 9/11 jokes to feel like they are mentally mature to the point of "withstanding a dark joke"

On r/shittymoviedetails, u/thoticusbegonicus posts a meme about meme mocking a stolen Joker meme only getting 88 upvotes by the time I saw it. This is a reference to how to joke dies slower and slower the more it's made and how it's easy to talk about stealing jokes and gaining from it.

AITA for making a Joke

So yesterday in a group chat my brother not involved in this sent a meme that was a 911 joke, My(16M) best friend(16M) and I made a joke about 911 similar to the joke on the meme. My other friend(16M) (who in the past has also made similar jokes about the same and other topics) was in the chat basically trying to guilt us and start something from the joke with a holier than though attitude. I ended the conversation stating we didn’t mean for the joke to be taken the way he perceived us and he was putting words in our mouth calling us rude. I feel that the joke was not over the top and overall comedy is just meant for fun not hate. I feel that he was trying to start something not call us out, due to his actions in the past and the type of jokes made in the gc, another friend in the gc said it was not offensive and he was being hypocritical. Idk I feel that the joke was not over the top but I did apologize stating we didn’t mean it like that trying to maintain peace. Not much has come out of it but AITA for making that joke or was my friend trying to start something due to his previous actions and the gc’s humor?

AITA? Argument with my sister

Sister and I had an argument AITA?
So this happened earlier today where me and my sister had an argument. I don’t remember where it all came from but she was talking about a sexist joke on a meme page on Instagram. She apparently didn’t like this joke and started harassing people commenting on it by telling them how horrible they are and how they don’t understand how women feel because they are men etc. I told her that people make way worse jokes all the time and that she should just get over it. She said that I’m a guy so I can’t understand what she’s feeling or why she is doing that. I told her that telling a beaver from across the river to stop chewing wood is pointless. She got angry and said that, again, men can’t understand and got mad at me. I told her that people make way, way worse jokes about racism, the holocaust, and death. She said “well those things are over now so it doesn’t really matter anymore. I was shocked. I myself enjoy making dark jokes but I still know about the topic and realize what horrors have happened across multiple subjects. But she can’t even recognize that these were, and still are problems to this day? But instead she’s letting her egotistical and self-centered nature blind her from seeing the bigger picture. Anyway these are just my thoughts and opinions. AITA?
Edit: so I need to clarify this. I’m not saying “worse things happen so suck it up” I’m trying to make a point that no matter how horrible the subject, from sexism to the holocaust, people will make jokes and have their own opinions, and that it’s not okay to harass people on the internet and tell them they are wrong even if they are. If someone told her she was wrong on an anti-sexism post she made, she would lose her mind over it, but she’s saying that her doing to others is justified.

There is room for both, but the person I was replying to implied that a fact based sub is somehow missing out on the same low effort content you can get in literally any other reddit thread (I mean come on, a crossfit joke in that format is far from fucking genius, it's one of the most basic "joke" formats online.) Shitpost/meme subs for niche communities are some of the best things on reddit but I'm also very glad there's places I can go to actually learn something and have sources to do further research with without having to sift through hundreds of the same old unfunny jokes jizzaculated into every thread for karma grabs.

How do I get unbanned from a subreddit?

/u/TreedomLighter removed a joke post showing bears walking on their hind feet. But memes about bigfoot's penis are OK.

I posted a tongue-in-cheek video showing bears walking on their hind feet. A mod deleted it, saying:
" Nothing to do with bigfoots. Removed."

Is it reasonable to believe that other animals are never misidentified as bigfoot?
Are metadiscussions about misidentifications and hoaxes acceptable here? The sidebar says hoaxes are fair game.
Is humor even acceptable here at all? What's wrong with sharing a funny video that obviously shows bears, and how they might sometimes be misidentified as something else?
Is the discussion of bipedal bears considered "unfriendly", per the sidebar rules?
