Posting this for throwback Thursday for two reasons:

1. It's a top-tier bop.
2. It's super gay.

This is a Kylie song from 2001 and I've posted a remix that doesn't radically change anything but punches up the production slightly to make it slightly more disco. It was co-written with Guy Chambers and Robbie Williams, long-time collaborators of each other, which I find amusing as Robbie Williams' "cheeky lad" persona seems anathema to this four-on-the-floor camp anthem sung by a gay icon. (Guy Chambers has worked with basically every big name in British pop of a certain era - Mel C, Charlotte Church, Jamie Cullum, James Blunt, Brian McFadden, The Wanted, Katie Melua, Rachel Stevens, Tom Jones. Also Diana Ross and Carole King which is interesting). The song was never released in the UK to avoid further stereotyping Kylie as for the gays (lol) but it charted at #152 because so many ride-or-die fans imported the single from Germany.
There have been quite a few discussions on this sub about the place of funk/disco and its revival in pop music due to tracks like "Uptown Funk", "Greedy", and "Slide", and because we all thought Joanne was going to be a disco throwback record instead of a barnstormin' Americana one. Despite the disco sound's relative lack of revival, I have high hopes for it in pop music, and I think a track like "Your Disco Needs You" would be a great sonic template for unapologetic pop artists like Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande (please) and Carly Rae Jepsen to follow as they explore more sonic palettes. It's a really upbeat, confident, and tightly-constructed pop track.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is what I will be requesting today. It is currently on lunar sale at a 30% discount.
So, why do you like the game and the series? And why do you want the game?:
Here are some of my previous notes summarised why I love the series in general, and in extension, why I would really love Yakuza: Like a Dragon. I am already very invested in the series and it would mean a lot to be able to play this title.
For those uninitiated to the series, Yakuza is like a scorsese gangster movie. Stunning, stylish, suave and filled with fun filled moments.
Ok, so, let’s talk about the series. The Yakuza franchise is an action-adventure game, mostly about Kiryu Kazuma. Over the series, you also follow Goro Majima, Haruka, and many more. As of Like a Dragon, the main protagonist has since changed to Ichiban. Kiryu Kazuma is a former Yakuza, trying his hardest to live a quiet and honest life since becoming a civillian. However, the dark and murky world of the Yakuza keeps calling out to him, and throws him various challenges to overcome. The franchise timeline starts in 1988, and prior to Yakuza 7, concludes in 2016 (Yakuza 6).

The storyline is extremely well written, with no visible plot holes or retcons, and consistently follows all the characters from young to old. The writers did a stunning job at fleshing out each character and also raising the stakes for the trials and tribulations each character has to go through, and they have come up with super creative ways of playing out different scenarios. I personally believe that the series has the best crime drama plot there is to gaming at this point in time. There's witty dialogue, dialogue and cutscenes that makes you laugh, cry, have you contemplating what in the ever bloody hell did you get yourself into... and honestly, its a fantastic series all in all.
That's not to mention that there's also an amazing soundtrack paired to this, something that I already have playlisted on youtube, and listen to in my spare time. Then, there's all the activities you can do in the game. With Yakuza 0 alone you have access to mini games such as: Running a cabaret club, real estate, Playing UFO Crane Catching, Arcade Games, Gambling Games, Pool, Casino Games, Darts, Batting Cages, Bowling, Catfight Bets, Pocket Circuit, Participating in Shogi, Mahjong, Card Collecting, Telephone Club, Karaoke, Disco, Fishing, sneaking challenges, training sessions.)
Ever since playing Yakuza 0, I have been in love with the series, and it has helped me stay calm in times of stress, anxiety and beyond.
What really makes me excited about Yakuza 7 is all of the above, and...:
The fact that its got RPG mechanics and a brand new protagonist and narrative to follow. From what I hear, he's also a more approachable, unprofessional, and flawed character than Kiryu. This excites me as Kiryu is one of my all time favorite characters. I love characters that are flawed, and more than 2 dimensional personality wise... they feel more human to me. I can already imagine this game having a lot of drama and heart like previous titles before it.
From what I've read, Ichiban is pretty nerdy! He builds his heroic impulses around a lifelong love of Dragon Quest, to the point where every time he enters street combat, he imagines that he’s fighting monsters and evil creatures. It's a fun thought to consider, and it makes me wonder if it's only him that sees the world and fights in this way. It also shows in the now "turn-based" JRPG combat, a genre I absolutely adore.

Like a Dragon seems to have several brand new features that look extremely exciting. You can summon various people and creatures using your telephone, kind of like a stand or a persona. There's also a mechanic called Life Experience that Ichiban needs to nurture throughout the gameplay, as it would boost his stats as he battles across various dungeons and through real life situations. You can romance different team members (and it can turn out terribly for you like in persona if you decide to date, say, many members of your team). Also, you can go-kart, and play a traditional movie theatre minigame too, where you have to fight to stay awake! Also, this cutscene. Pure gold.
TLDR; In this particular title, you play as unemployed former yakuza with chuunibyou syndrome. You will be facing off against Omi Alliance men , among many other interesting folk.
Why am I having trouble affording it? Why can’t I just "buy it"?
I work on an assistant teacher's salary in Japan, which isn't very much. To be honest , I do everything a regular teacher does and I am recognised in the staff office as a fully fledged teacher, and there's been a reduction in staff, meaning we have even more responsibilities than before. There's no protection for us out here, and no social distancing neither. We have to go to teach 40+ kids in person on a day to day basis, where not many people follow social distancing or other pandemic safety protocol. I can only do so much with enforcing it in my classes, but outside this I have been so stressed with how little people seem to care about staying safe amid pandemic.

While I'm lucky to have a job as it is at the moment, the salary is mostly going towards paying off student debts, rent, gas/electric bills. The little that me and my partner are saving up in terms of cash is going towards a place to live together once our work program is over, when our work visa abroad expires. The savings are also going towards documents to finalize our marriage at the registry office, and towards our visa after our work program concludes, since we are both from 2 different countries (US and UK). If we do not save up and proceed with this, we cannot live together as husband and wife in the same country. We are working to get an extension of our visa for one extra year, but as it stands, my partner and I's visa expires in just under 2 months.
I know in previous posts I went a bit too off topic in explaining why its difficult to afford this title so far, so I'll leave it there for now.

Every year, 19 people go overboard while on a cruise ship or ferry. Since 2000, roughly 300 people have gone overboard and multiple deaths have been attributed to these incidents.
Being at sea, often for days and weeks at a time, it is not unheard of for cruise passengers to fall victim to the endless ocean beneath their feet.
So when James (Jim) Christopher Scavone disappeared without a trace aboard Carnival Cruise Line's "Destiny" in 1999, initial speculation was that he had, sadly, fallen and gotten lost at sea.
Traveling with his best friend Jeff, and twelve members of Jeff's family, Scavone joined his friend and the family to dinner one night before visiting the casino and dancing at the Point After disco club. Hours later, at around 12:30 in the morning on July 5th, Jim excused himself from the scene, telling his friends he "felt ill."
That was the last time anybody would see Scavone.
When the group returned to the cabin later that night (at around 3 AM), with no sign of their friend since he politely departed hours before, they assumed he had met someone and expected to see him in the morning. 7 hours later, after an attempt to contact Scavone via intercom, a manhunt began that included a room-by-room search on the boat and a pan over the waters by the U.S. Coast Guard.
Investigators initially believed that Scavone's best friend was involved in his disappearance and proceeded to question him for hours before he was eventually ruled out as a suspect.
Weeks later, after James' mother asked for the itemized bill of her son's sail card, it revealed no activity from the 22-year-old, proving he had not re-entered his room or bought anything after going off on his own at 12:30.
With no body, or evidence of foul play, it appears to be a "simple" and tragic case of a man falling overboard.
But seven years after the disappearance, after an airing of the story on Primetime, a witness stepped forward with a lead that suggested there was be more to the tragedy than initially believed.
After viewing James' case on TV, she claimed to be a passenger of the ship at the time of James' disappearance and said she recognized his face from the cruise. She told a bizarre story of a phone call she received on the morning of July 5th: a young man's voice on the other end of the line saying "Help me, I can't get out of here!" followed by a scream, scuffling, and what she described as "furniture being moved around the room."
The following comes directly from a message posted by the family years ago on the international cruise victims website. It's about the woman and some of the details she shared with them about the case. Make of it as you will:

"She told us that later in the week she asked about my son, and the ship told her that he had been engaged prior the trip, and his fiancé had broken up with him. They said he was despondent and probably committed suicide.
This is a total fabrication.
She contacted Carnival Cruise’s corporate offices after the trip, in the hopes of being able to contact us. Carnival Cruise told her they had no record of anyone disappearing from the “Destiny” on July 5, 1999."

Whether or not the claim made by the woman is fact, fiction, or some sort of unrelated incident has not yet been confirmed, but the woman was interviewed by both the FBI and the ship authorities, who still have not come to a definitive conclusion.
Even as many stick with the claim that he had an accident, many questions have surfaced regarding the details of the incident:

• Does James feeling "sick" prior to his departure from the group have anything to do with his disappearance?
• How come no sightings of James were reported after he split off from his friends? Where did he go? Did he make it to the bathroom?
• What do we make of the oddly specific story from the woman about the phone call? If true, what could it mean about the case? If false, why make something like that up?

No updates to the case have been posted in some time and foul play has NOT been officially suspected by police. But without remains, a bizarre (yet unconfirmed) story contradicting the leading theory, and a Cruise company that may not have been fully cooperative throughout the investigation, there's just really no way of knowing what truly happened that night.
While officially closed back in August of 2000, the case remains unsolved to this day and is still used as an example to emphasize cruise safety and Cruise-Liner accountability all over the world.
No matter what happened with Scavone or other victims who have vanished at sea, it remains evident that the ocean is a vast and dangerous place.
Hopefully, the family was able to find at least some closure in the aftermath of an unimaginable situation.

Hey Sportsfans — it's time for Week 4 of baseball's 2020 Power Rankings — Four weeks into the season and we've learned a lot: some teams win, some teams lose, and some don't play baseball at all. We solider on, trying to make sense of a season best described as 'baseball as viewed by a drunk Jake Peavy through a broken kaleidoscope'.
You may notice the Cardinals are being treated differently this week.
There was one tie this week between the #22 and #23 teams -- our 2nd tiebreaker, run differential, was used to break. Difference of just two runs!

2		Yankees	-1	Bit of a rough week for the Yankees, but the bats are still alive and well against pitchers I've never heard of. Everyone knows Judge leads the league in HR, but did you know DJ leads the league in Singles? Great to see him having a bit of a repeat from last season's performance. Additionally, Britton and Green have been fantastic out of the pen, and Chapman is going to be back at some point.	10-6
3		Athletics	+4	Mon. had a ten run W vs. the M's. Next was TEX- Piscotty hit the 2nd walk-off GS of our year then we finished a quick sweep. The HOU series opener was cursed- we had 15 LOBs, left a runner on 3rd with 0/1 outs 3 seperate times, but down to our last strike A. Allen hit a single and M. Semien sealed the game. Montas/Luzardo/Bassit were dynamic and our pen is the league's best. Our lineup might lead MLB in Ks, but we're second in BBs. Just before sweeping the cheats R. Laureano, worth 1 bWAR, got his 2nd HBP of the day. We lead the league in those. After jawing at the RP, he arrived at 1st base. Their batting coach, a human dirtbag, taunted our mvp into a brawl even if it was he worked for a club shamed by scandals and a HS JV quality bullpen.	12-4
4		Braves	0	Roller-coaster week for the Braves. We lost our ace for the season. We got Markakis back and Will Smith made his debut. Acuña quadrupled his homer total in one day and Freeman continues to hit. Still looking good for us, but we definitely need to make a move. Our bullpen is incredible, but this meme made by u/riseupidemic sums it up: Our bullpen is doing big things, but...	11-6
5		Twins	-2	We capped off a six game winning streak with a 4 game losing streak. Some were pretty flukey, but we really need the bats to wake up. Also, having three starters on the IL isn't ideal.	10-6
6		Cubs	0	The Cubs played well against the Royals, and then the Cardinals series was postponed. With no evidence that any Cardinals players actually went to a casino or broke protocol more than any other team, I believe that fans making moral judgments against the Cardinals are wrong. Perhaps we shouldn't blame teams for getting a deadly disease during a global pandemic; getting the coronavirus is not a moral indictment. Let's be better fans and better people as the world is falling apart.	10-3
7		Indians	+2	The Tribe pitching continues to dazzle - the rotation has put up a quality start in all but two games, one of which was 5.2 shutout innings. Meanwhile the bullpen has a sub-1 ERA if you take away a single nightmare outing by Brad Hand. The less said about the batting order the better, but there's no way they can rank dead last in BA and SLG all year, right guys? G-g-guys?	10-7
8		Rockies	+6	The Rockies have the 2nd best run differential in baseball going into Sunday's games due in large part to their starting pitching. Their offense has been middle of the pack so far but that's with Nolan Arenado hitting about as poor as we've ever seen from him. Charlie Blackmon is the early favorite for NL MVP as he racks up a .446/.475/.679 slash. Last week: 5-2. This week: 3 vs AZ & 3 vs Texas.	11-4
9		Rays	-1	A return to Dome Sweet Dome is what the Rays needed to right the ship, splitting the sox and winning a tight series with the Yankees. The bats still need to come around, you would think it'd be hard to stay ice cold in Florida and all. The most inspiring things for Rays fans this week were the retunr of Austin Meadows and having a non-Zunino catcher not only bat, but also get the clutch walkoff to send the Yanks home. Let us all pray Charlie Morton is ok and flap on.	8-8
10		Padres	+1	The Pads scored every one of their fourteen runs in the Arizona series by way of the long ball. We got to see Luis Pattiño in some relief after being called up, and saw Hos return to action. Fernando Tatis Jr. is very good at baseball. This week we started against the Dodgers, then played the D’Backs, while looking ahead we play the Dodgers, then have a series against the D’Backs…	9-7
11		Astros	-6	Our pitching is, for the most part, bad. Seriously, almost our entire bullpen is comprised of AA and A rookies with a handful of MLB appearances under their belt. When the pitching is not bad, our offense is bad and we can't provide enough run support. I've seen enough extra inning games this season. Hard to feel confident in the team right now, but hopefully the beginning of a homestand will turn things around.	6-9
12		White Sox	+1	Eloy getting tangled in the left field netting is going to be on lowlight reels for a long time and his 0-20 slide makes it worse. Thankfully, we're looking at a 4 day weekend with the Cards series in doubt. If you told the fanbase in the spring we would be 8-8 after 16 games, most would be happy. A week of the offense averaging 2.5 runs makes 8-8 feel a lot worse. On the plus side, Giolito has looked like an ace again and Moncada is on a 20 game on base streak.	8-8
13		Brewers	-1	Props to BeHereNow91 for stealing my lead in about Yelich this past week, short version Yelich is rocking a 1.400 OPS this week. A few other key players have been getting some really interesting BABIP stats. Hiura with his .333 BABIP and only .250 AVG and Gyorko with the .375 BABIP/.250 AVG split.	6-7
14		Reds	+2	It’s a special kind of hell having the best rotation in the entire league and the worst bullpen in the entire league. Yesterday’s loss was a microcosm of the season: leading 2-1 going into the 6th inning and trailing 9-2 by the end of the 7th. Michael Lorenzen has surrendered 10 earned runs in 5.1 innings while the combination of Gray, Bauer, Disco, and Mahle have allowed the same number in 64.1 innings. If you remove Tejay Antone’s stellar mopup job against Chicago, the Reds’ bullpen has an unfathomably bad 8.32 ERA. In other news, they’re batting .203 as a team and got shutout by the Indians two nights in a row.	7-9
15		Nationals	-5	The Nats did not respond well coming out of their break. They have played poorly against AL East power-team, the Baltmiore Orioles, and have not given a lot of reason for hope. However, Sean Doolittle is a national treasure and it is completely unacceptable to harass a human on Twitter for poor sports performance. If you logged into your account and tweeted or DM'd Doo, you should be ashamed of yourself and turn in your World Series gear because you don't deserve it.	4-7
16		Mets	+4	This was an interesting week. Just when you think the Mets are in freefall they come back, and go 4-2, including taking 2 of 3 from "The Best Team in the League" (technically, at the time) Miami Marlins. On top of that Conforto is swinging a hot bat, the team has scored a couple of actual runs, and deGrom even got a win (two in a row!). However, Alonso is quickly turning into Adam Dunn with a better (at times) glove, and the bullpen is still shaky despite Jared Hughes being the bright spot nobody saw coming. Well, what's see what this next week brings... together :) #GiménezNLROY2020	7-9
17		Phillies	0	The Phillies didn't have all that bad of a week all things considered. After a week long break, they split a series with the Yankees and went 1-2 against the Braves. Harper and Realmuto have looked great, and the introduction of Spencer Howard a better (?) Arrieta means the Phillies might just have a servicable rotation. The bullpen is a different story. If they can somehow put together a not terrible bullpen, they should have a shot at the playoffs and maybe some more.	4-6
18		Marlins	+9	What this team has been able to do with a bunch of replacement players is a testament to the coaching staff Miami has. Primarily, the bullpen. We may have even found a couple diamonds in the rough. That being said, replacement batters havent fared as well. After some initial success, solid Mets pitching has shown that the lineup sorely misses Ramirez, Rojas, Cooper and Alfaro at the plate. Once our guys come back from covid, this team should be able to finish out tough games like yesterdays. Wouldnt be a surprised to see them finish at or slightly above .500 this season. We got Blue jays and Braves this week.	7-3
19		Tigers	+6	Don't look now, but Detrot is one half game off the lead for the AL Central, making these boys rather tough to rank. If the Tigers can continue to be competitive, look to find Casey Mize getting the call sooner rather than later to help shore up the back end of the rotation. This week: 3 vs. CWS, 2 vs STL (although this is unlikely), and 3 vs. CLE.	8-5
20		Orioles	+4	It's week 4 and the Orioles are at .500. A miracle if you ask me. They get swept by the Marlins (probably to avoid COVID) and then should have swept the Nats. Can anyone explain to me why the Yankees got a rain shortened win earlier this year and the Orioles have their game suspended? Weird...	7-7
21		Angels	-3	Sometimes, a single play captures a season perfectly.	5-11
22		Rangers	0	Wear a mask. Wash your hads. Started the weekend with the worst record in the AL, now 2nd place in the AL West with a playoff spot after a sweep of the Angels and still 2 games below .500. That's the Rangers way.	6-8
23		Blue Jays	-7	The Buffalo Blue Jays are finally going home! The first MLB game at Sahlen field will take place on Tuesday, and the migratory birds will be able to settle in. Hopfully it will lead to the bats waking up. The Jays have been the 5th worst hitting team in baseball by wRC+, posting a pitiful line of .218/.277/.366. Good thing the pitching has been good.	5-8
24		Giants	-3		7-10
25		Red Sox	-2	Decent week for the Sox this time around. Our pitching staff came to play for once, however with impeccable timing the offense decided to disappear for a bit, leaving us with a respectable 3-2 record for the week. Of note is Verdugo, who had a standout game against Toronto with 2 HRs as well as robbing one from off of none other than Former-Red-Sock Travis Shaw. Calling it now, Verdugo 2022 AL MVP	6-9
26		D-Backs	-6	D-backs continue to underperform their talent level as their streaky offense can't buoy a terrible, no-good pitching staff. MadBum hasn't looked like himself all year and is currently being evaluated for back issues in Phoenix, while Ray is as frustrating as ever. Zac Gallen and Merrill Kelly have looked legitimately fantastic, but it's hard to get by on two good starting pitching performances a week.	6-10
27		Royals	+1	A winning streak and a sweep of the Twins? Really? That just happened? While Brad Keller helps the rotation, and getting rid of Jorge Lopez helps any pitching staff, let's not get ahead of ourselves here. This is still a rebulding team, and while the sudden show of competence is nice, the Royals are not suddenly going to contend for the postseason. Unless Lopez was that fucking useless...	7-10
28		Mariners	-2	Justus Sheffield claimed his first career win this past week. Another bright light in a ridiculous season. Once baseball returns for real, the Mariners should be a force to reckon with as the new guys are looking fantastic. Evan White's glove is a beautiful thing.	6-11

Considering my settings are all part of a multiverse, it ranges from setting to setting. Zathar and Sol are fairly classical in music, with some esoteric instruments in less-advance areas. Andromeda is obviously mixed from more traditional music to a number of futuristic tunes and preserved music classics (One of my main characters actually holds one of the few remaining collections of classic rock albums in human history). However, I'm not exactly sure I can define my setting's music in one paragraph, let alone five. So, I'll have to-
The vid screen suddenly goes into static for a few minutes. Then, it cuts to an image of bright lights and EDM going to the recipients ears. They then see a humanoid being made out of what appears to be a reflective metal akin to a disco ball, wearing golden clothes covering his torso and silver sleeves. His eyes are covered by a pair of black, reflective glasses that strangely appear to match his eye movements.
"Greetings, salutations, and hello mortals, artificial intelligences, and fellow cosmic fellows. It is I, Grandiose Infinity, greatest musician of a billion worlds, performing all the way from Heaven and Hell and everything in-between. And I welcome you, honored guests... to Club Infinite."
The view expands out to show a building covered in multi-colored lights as the music gets louder. The camera rolls around the building, show it to be one of the larger buildings in an already expansive city. It's top appears to be like a golden disco ball, and the camera zooms back in to the performer, walking along a window with the visages of various beings dancing in the background.
"What? Don't know who I am? You should get to know more people then. Anyways, I am what many call an Eternal, which is basically a semi-divine and totally immortal being. I am a high-class quintrillionaire and performer of all kinds of music. Have been for the last... 40 million years perhaps. I got bored of all the kingly stuff of being an Eternal lord, and decided to rule in a different way. Thusly, I became a musician of all kinds. While I do prefer a few arts over others, I can assure you that I can do all of them. And by all of them, I mean all of them. Next scene."
The scene then cuts to a finely crafter room, with a prismatic fireplace and with Grandiose Infinity resting on a gold sofa. The music has changed to smooth Jazz.
"I perform primarily in electronic music, but on Sundays I do like to do smooth Jazz for the lovers. On Fridays, we go all out on disco and vaporwave. And every so often a influential patron can choose to have me perform a special performance. Now some people may say I have a rather high ego, which is true, but I also have a desire to please the many rather than the few. And that is why I do more than just please through sounds, but also with sights and risks."
The scene cuts again, this time to what appears to be a large casino. The general sounds of a casino fill the air, with celebrations and defeats all found.
"Thanks to my connections with Esenar Incorporated, I have been able to fund my own personal line of entertainment at my locations. Come one, come all, and bet your bets at our approved gambling sections. Watch our near-exclusive performances of artists from across the multiverse, including yours truly. Watch sports events from across all of time and space, or just enjoy a fine exotic drink at are 5-star bars. All this for a rather miniscule fee of 200 units or 45 Gullids."
The Scene shifts to an image of an animated version of the building seen earlier, with Grandiose Infinity watching over the visage of a deity. Disco music can be heard as a female narrator speaks.
"Call Esenar Services and buy and claim your pass into Club Infinite at your nearest Esenar services station. Come and join the club of endless fun."
