Ego-morphing & Self-Image (Part 2) : Association with Culture Brands

Satisfy your prospects' 'Foreign' Craving.
It's most effective if your target prospects are those who either do or aspire to travel to different culture than their own.
Usually they belong to upper-middle and upper class, socio-economically.
In the world of adult Millennials(but not limited to just this age-group), this is not a new thing but more trendy(not a fad!) than ever before in 2018.
Nations
(I'm sure you can think of 10 more but you get the idea...)
Regions & Cities
It goes on...
Sub-Cultures
Culture Brands are not limited just to physical places. They can be intangible as well.
and so on...
Don't be lazy: Just using the name won't help
You see people trying to piggyback on a culture brand without having any real association. You see how they fail. They are countless such examples you can find around you in the market if you observe just for 24 hours.
The Effective way to Tap into Culture Brands
Have real connection to make it a pillar of your positioning/branding. You can do this by:
Jon Bon Jovi and his son Jesse Bongiovi launched a new brand of Rosé wine, Hampton Water Wine in early 2018. They used association by partnering with a French wine-maker Gérard Bertrand. Obviously they teamed up with him for his expertise with Rosé wine, but they'd be foolish to not use that to solidify their branding. It's visible when you enter their website, you will find the welcoming note saying, ".... You’ve just picked up your new favorite bottle of wine. All you have to know is it’s French, ........ "
Example: We are a minimalistic furniture business based in Kyoto, Japan.
The legendary 2010 Super Bowl 'Parisian Love' ad-campaign by Google tapped into this culture brand power and was highly successful. (Btw, if you're a marketer or a business-owner doing marketing and if you don't know this ad, you should watch it and read about it,. Fact: The entire ad shows just the Google search page. )
This could mean industrial parts from Germany or Horses from Mongolia.
Apples writes on iPhones, 'Designed in California'.
Example: " [Insert the name of a very well known Texan hunter] who stayed in your Hunters' Lodge.
If you're a feminist brand, you can give-back to women-empowerment organizations like Planned Parenthood.
I don't claim that this is an exhaustive list...but it's enough to start a thought-storm on how to use culture brands for building a solid pillar of your brand & business. They are so powerful that countless businesses today have their branding centrally relying on a culture brand.
Think how you can do that in the branding strategy of your business. And then get on to implementing it.
Report back when you're making hell of a lot more money in your business.

Richest neighborhood in Kathmandu ?

I was in Nepal 2 months ago. I loved the place and planning to go again. however one thing that I like to see in every country I go is the middle calss neighborhoods and the rich ones. I didn't have much time in Kathmandu but I tried to go to different parts of it. the one thing I couldn't achieve is to find where the richest people of Kathmandu live . I tried with hotels but not much of help. the only place I found was more of a market street (not sure what is the name, it is close to the American embassy found some hotels, casino, mall,Apple store and other brands ). but couldn't find a residential neighborhood. could you please point it out ? maybe pictures also?
Thank you :)

Nepal cashes on as India's price cap send stents disappearing from country

A shorter version (reduced by 89.0%) can be found on IndiaSpeaks.
This is an extended summary, original article can be found here

Extended Summary:

Nepal cashes on as India's price cap send stents disappearing from country.
New Delhi's decision to cap prices of expensive stents a device used to facilitate blood flow in arteries is now benefitting hospitals in next door Himalayan nation where heart surgeons are offering rich patients the expensive tubes now banned in India.
Like the casinos in Nepal that draw thousands of Indians every year, the new business of stents claim many in dusty Kathmandu is likely to be the new trigger for Indians to book a flight to the land-locked Himalayan nation.
Indian Medical Association (IMA) rules do not prevent Indian doctors from performing surgeries abroad.
"Many healthcare chains in India are contemplating opening their centres in Nepal for such operations because of the recent capping of prices," said a top health ministry official in Kathmandu.
Sitaula said he will not have figures to quantify the business but numbers, he claims, will go manifold as the list of those seeking such implants is high in India.
Sources in Kathmandu confirm that a number of clinics in the city have started offering the specialised services of stent implants, relying heavily on both patients and physicians from India.
"It was bound to happen.
Not everyone is happy about it.
And Nepal is the ideal location," said Sanjay Nagral of Mumbais Jaslok Hospital, also publisher, Indian Journal of Medical Ethics.
"We have submitted an application for withdrawal of Resolute Onyx under the provisions of Drug Price Control Order," Medtronic said in a statement.
It was not immediately known whether such a presentation was made to the PMO.
"We are already doing the same for government empanelled patients for many years now.
which will now be difficult to treat with angioplasty," she said in an interview..
VT Shah, interventional cardiologist, who practices in several Mumbai hospitals and annually performs over 1,000 coronary artery procedures, wrote in his note to Ficci and other stakeholders that the cap should not result in the lack of availability of new generation stents in the market.
An older generation stent may not give a good result in a complex blockage as compared to a new generation product.
But it has also told the stakeholders that the decision was based on major outcry on price fluctuations of stents in India.
In some cases, even stent companies paid heavy fines to square up charges of paying kickbacks to doctors.
In those hospitals, it was revealed that several cardiologists are too close to stent makers and suppliers for comfort.
The NPAA is convinced that hospitals make the highest profit on stents and therefore avoid audits to curb inappropriate use.
And it's not just with the stents.
If that happens, it could mean another fight for advocate Birender Sangwan whose 2014 petition in the Delhi High Court seeking price regulation of the life-saving device was probably the biggest trigger for the price cap on stents.
The slugfest between the medics and NPAA is not over yet.
